Jessica Dawes

Lead Practitioner, Transdisciplinary Impacts 3-19

Hello I am Jess.  I have worked at Humberston Park School since 2008 and have 16+ years teaching experience in primary and special educational settings.  I started my journey as a teaching assistant and have worked across all areas and ages (3-19) of the School.  I went on to complete a foundation degree in Learning Support, furthering my studies by completing my BA Honours degree in Learning and Teaching and achieving Qualified Teachers Status (QTS).  I became a phase 2/3 classroom teacher before joining the Leadership Team in 2023.  I have since completed a National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in Senior Leadership (NPQSL) and aim to complete an NPQ for Headship in the near future.  I am currently Lead Practitioner with responsibility for the transdisciplinary impacts of 3-19 across the whole school. My additional responsibilities include: Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Senior Mental Health Lead, Mental Health and Grief First Aider, Relationships, Sex and Health Education Co-ordinator and I am also one of the qualified Team Teach Positive Behaviour Trainers.

I am extremely passionate about special educational needs and disabilities and will continue to always drive our School and the wider community forward to ensure our pupils are exposed to, and provided with, the very best opportunities, experiences and provisions, promoting independence, autonomy, inclusion and equity, enabling them to reach their full potential and develop into healthy, successful members of the community.
