SSAT Membership

Our membership for SEND schools helps us drive forward school improvement, develop staff professional development, strengthening our retention strategy and succession planning.  It further enables us to keep up to date with and make sense of changes to policy and practice, exploring solutions that will work in our context.  The membership also gives us a platform from which to contribute to discussions on national issues.

MOVE Centre of Excellence logo

Accredited MOVE Centre of Excellence

Humberston Park School is a MOVE (Movement Opportunities via Education) Centre of Excellence.  We encourage all pupils to gain as much independence as possible in all aspects of their lives: One of the most important aspects of independence is the ability to move.  As a School, we place great importance on our MOVE curriculum.  The MOVE programme enables children with physical impairments to improve their skills in independent sitting, standing, walking and transferring through functional goals.

Rebound Therapy Institute Member

We are a member of the RTI: The Rebound Therapy Institute is the international membership network and information sharing facility for Rebound Therapy Practitioners.  Rebound Therapy enhances basic movements by allowing energy assisted patterns of movement to be programmed and easily repeated. This process encompasses movement needs within the motor impaired groups and provides a sound basis upon which able participants can progress through the range of performance levels.

Team Teach

Our staff have been trained by experienced trainers who have delivered evidence-based training, enabling our staff to put each pupil at the centre of every decision regarding positive behaviour support.  We tailor our training to the needs to the complex needs of our pupils which gives us the confidence and strategies needed to de-escalate situations and reduce the need for physical intervention and so best support each pupil through what can be difficult and challenging times.

Educational Visits Coordinator, Accredited by the Institute for Outdoor Learning

The EVC Register is a register of trained Educational Visits Coordinators (EVCs), which keeps a record of individuals who have received training and certification from a reputable provider. The register is a way to ensure that schools and educational establishments have trained individuals overseeing educational visits.  Being on The EVC Register signifies that an individual has completed the necessary training as recommended by the Department for Education, OEAP National Guidance and is prepared to oversee educational visits. It’s always a good idea to consult this register when looking for qualified EVCs for your educational trips.

TEACCH Autism, Certified Practitioner

As the number of professionals trained by the UNC TEACCH® Autism Program increased, the demand for accountability and quality services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) also increased. To address these needs, TEACCH established a comprehensive Certification Program for educators, psychologists, social workers, speech therapists, and other service providers in the field of autism.  The TEACCH Certification Program helps to protect the fidelity, integrity, and quality of the TEACCH model and to provide educators and clinicians with a professional certification that allows them to document their use of evidence-based practices.

It is the responsibility of a business to comply with food hygiene law at all times.  This includes: handling of food – how food is stored – how food is prepared – cleanliness of facilities – how food safety is managed.
