The Lone Runner

IMG 5664

15 years ago The Lone Runner (David Riggall) met Brian Marsh who told him all about our Hydrotherapy Pool and the difference this therapy can make to our physically disabled pupils.  He handed over a cheque for £15. It was at this point that David decided he wanted to support the Hydrotherapy Pool.

Over the last 4 years he has raised an amazing £3515 which included a cheque for £2000 that was presented to the schools Governors today.

David raised this money by running.  Every time he does a run he puts some of his own money into a pot and saves it for the pool.  He can often be seen at local events including 5k, 10k and other challenges.  He even completed several Race for Life events back to back while recovering from COVID.  It hasn't been easy at times and he has got injured along the way and at one event he partially ruptured his Achilles.

He said 'I don't even like running but I do it for the children.'

We are all are extremely grateful to The Lone Runner and his continued support.  The donations make a real difference.
