Transdisciplinary working

The School's purpose is to engage children in enjoyable learning activities that are of functional value to them now and in their future lives.

We see the essential areas of this activity to be:

  • Developing children’s ability to communicate and interact meaningfully
  • Improving children’s physical abilities
  • Enabling children and young people to develop personally, socially and emotionally

We believe that this is best achieved for our pupils by a transdisciplinary approach to education, health, therapy and care in close partnership with parents / carers and a range of other professionals.

This approach has to be based on each child's personal needs rather than the need to comply with the demands of a general curriculum.
