Integrated approach

The schools aim is to engage children in enjoyable learning activities that are of functional value to them now and in their future lives.

We see the essential areas of this activity to be:

  • Developing children’s ability to communicate and interact meaningfully
  • Improving children’s Physical abilities
  • Enabling children and young people to develop Personally, Socially and Emotionally

We believe that this is best achieved for our pupils by an Integrated approach to Education, Therapy and Care and close partnership with Parents and Carers.

This approach has to be based on the individual’s needs rather than the need to comply with the demands of a general curriculum.

"The school and all of the staff are excellent.  My daughter has always been so happy there and has thrived on many levels since she started at Humberston Park - no parent could ask for more.  The staff are not only caring and patient with the pupils, they extend these qualities to the parents also.  Thank you."  A Parent in 2015

"The constant development of the knowledge and skills of staff to meet pupils' as well as possible needs lie at the heart of the academy's success.  It underpins the continuous improvement of teaching and pupil's achievement." Ofsted 2015
